• Hello WooCommerce Support Team,

I am currently auditing the feed architecture for our website. We are preparing for the August 2026 Content API deprecation and need to resolve a duplicate feed issue. We currently use a scheduled XML feed (CTX Feed) as our primary inventory source, but the “Google for WooCommerce” plugin is simultaneously pushing a redundant feed via the Content API, causing data collisions.

To stabilize our setup, we are planning to disconnect and deactivate the Google for WooCommerce plugin entirely. Before we proceed, my manager has requested official confirmation on a few points regarding the plugin’s features:

    1. Google Integration: What specific functions does the general “Google account integration” handle within the plugin?
    2. Google Ads Integration: What exactly does the “Google Ads integration” control on the site?
    3. Implications: If we disconnect these accounts and deactivate the plugin, what exact tracking scripts, data flows, or functionalities will break or stop working?
    4. Alternatives: Since we are keeping our XML feed for inventory, what is the best practice for replacing the Ads/Analytics tracking scripts that the plugin currently handles?

Thank you for your time and guidance.

    Best regards,

    Hi @jaygumanid,

Thanks for laying out your questions so clearly.

    1. Google Integration (Google account) is responsible for connecting your store to Google Merchant Center and syncing your products via the Content API. If you disconnect it, product syncing from Google for WooCommerce will stop.
    2. Google Ads Integration connects the plugin with your Google Ads account and provides features such as Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing.
    3. If you disconnect the integrations and deactivate the plugin:
    • Product syncing to GMC through Google for WooCommerce will stop.
    • Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing provided by the plugin will also stop.
    • Your WooCommerce store, products, orders, and your Google Ads or Merchant Center accounts themselves won’t be deleted.
    1. Replacing the tracking: If you’re using CTX Feed for your product feed, you’ll only need to replace the tracking functionality if you still want conversion data sent to Google Ads. A common approach is to implement Google Ads conversion tracking separately, for example using Google Tag Manager.

One procedural note before you proceed: disconnect the Google and Google Ads accounts within the plugin settings before deactivating it. This cleanly severs the Merchant Center connection rather than leaving an orphaned integration on Google’s side.

I hope this helps clarify things, but if anything is still unclear, just let us know.
