I have created a staging site called BM-Staging. Now I want to restore my main site, but the folder /public_html/BM-staging is not part of the downloaded restore file, so I’m worried that I will loose my staging site if I restore. Please advice.

    Hello @sblar ,

Backup Migration plugin will always leave out backup files and staging sites from a website backup creation, regardless of settings, to prevent unwanted files inclusion.

To simply restore your Staging site after a main site restoration, follow these steps:

    1. Enter the staging site, Backup Migration plugin menu. Create staging site backup and download it. You can now delete the staging site.
    2. Back on the main site, restore the main site using the main site backup file.
    3. After that, create a new staging site, e.g. BM-Staging
    4. Inside the new staging site, upload the staging site backup file and restore it there.

    Kind regards
