removing (older) larger files

    I’m trying out this plugin to bulk remove files too large for my website. In the past all kinds of sizes were uploaded, when I took over I put up a maximum of 1200x1200px, but a lot of images still have their old sizes. I had hoped this plugin would clean those up, but when I run it from the command line (or WP admin for that matter) the files larger than the set dimensions remain.

    Is this by design or can unused images be deleted?

    Hi @vespino

    It should get those images as well. Do you have the “Delete Originals” option turned on? That should remove any over-large images that were scaled down and are saved for creating resizes, when you do a bulk resize. If not, it’s possible that it’s those images. If you would rather resize those, you could use our EWWW Image Optimizer plugin as it has an option to include those in the resizing.

    Alternatively, can you find those images in your Media Library and try running the resize option from there?
