    Hi Essential Addons Support Team,

We are experiencing a display issue with the Essential Addons Events Calendar widget.

The widget’s event source is set to The Events Calendar.

    Website: https://thebhp.com.au/
WordPress timezone: Broken Hill / Australia/Broken_Hill
    The Events Calendar version: 7.0
Widget/source: Essential Addons Events Calendar widget using The Events Calendar as the source
Issue appears on: Calendar/month-style widget display

    Issue summary:

Events from The Events Calendar are being displayed incorrectly inside the Essential Addons calendar widget. Most one-day events with an end time later than 2:00 pm are extending visually into the next day, even though the events are saved as same-day events in The Events Calendar.

    Examples of behaviour:

    • If an event ends at 2:00 pm or earlier, it displays correctly on the assigned day.
    • If an event ends at 2:30 pm or later, it extends into the next day in the Essential Addons calendar widget.
    • This is happening across multiple events, not just one event.
    • All-day events display correctly.
    • The issue started recently, around this week.

    We checked the following:

    1. WordPress timezone is correctly set to Broken Hill.
    2. The Events Calendar event timezone shows Australia/Broken_Hill.
    3. The Events Calendar “End of day cutoff” is set to 12:00 am.
    4. The Essential Addons widget source is set to The Events Calendar.
    5. We flushed LiteSpeed server cache.
    6. We disabled The Events Calendar Month View Cache.
    7. We tested changing The Events Calendar template away from “Elementor Full Width”.
    8. We tested changing The Events Calendar stylesheet from Default Styles to Skeleton Styles.
    9. The issue remained after these tests.

We also inspected the database for an affected event.

For event post ID 12641, the saved data appears correct:

    _Postmeta values:

    • _EventStartDate: 2026-02-19 19:30:00
    • _EventEndDate: 2026-02-19 19:30:00
    • _EventStartDateUTC: 2026-02-19 09:00:00
    • _EventEndDateUTC: 2026-02-19 09:00:00
    • _EventTimezone: Australia/Broken_Hill
    • _EventDuration: 0

    TEC events table values:

    • post_id: 12641
    • start_date: 2026-02-19 19:30:00
    • end_date: 2026-02-19 19:30:00
    • timezone: Australia/Broken_Hill
    • start_date_utc: 2026-02-19 09:00:00
    • end_date_utc: 2026-02-19 09:00:00
    • duration: 0

This suggests the event data is being stored correctly in The Events Calendar, but the Essential Addons calendar widget is rendering the event incorrectly.

Could you please advise whether this is a known compatibility issue with the Essential Addons Events Calendar widget when using The Events Calendar as the source, especially with The Events Calendar v7.0? Also, please let us know if there is a setting, patch, or workaround to prevent same-day events from being displayed as multi-day events in the widget.

Screenshots can be provided if needed.

    Thank you.

    Hi @jerichoawe

    Greetings!

Thank you for the detailed report and for all the troubleshooting you’ve already done. 🙂

This is a known timezone issue with the Event Calendar widget when using The Events Calendar as the source. On sites whose timezone isn’t UTC, the event’s end time gets shifted by the timezone offset — and with a half-hour offset like Broken Hill (UTC+9:30), this can push same-day events into the next day, which matches exactly what you’re seeing.

Good news: our development team has already fixed this. 🙂 Could you please test the latest development version and let us know if it resolves the issue on your end?

Dev version of Essential Addons Free plugin, https://d.pr/f/rQmk3V download it and replace your current free plugin.

One important note: after updating, please make sure to clear your Elementor cache as well (not just the server/cache plugins).

Let me know how its going.

    Thanks
