New Authors Not Showing Up

We just noticed that when we add new users they don’t show up right away in the authors box in a post. We’re on 4.0.2 and I think just recently updated, and we weren’t noticing this behavior before.

We added a new user to our site yesterday, and when I went in to add him to the post today, he didn’t show up in the list of authors (searching by either first or last name). Myself and another user tried in different browsers on different computers and different posts. After looking at some seemingly related posts in the past couple weeks here, I cleared our site cache, and then he immediately showed up in the list.

It seems like maybe there is more aggressive caching going on than previously? It seems like I shouldn’t have to clear my site cache each time I add a new user to get them to show up as an option (especially after a day). If we need to, we can do that, but figured I’d alert you to it as well.
