I’m just testing this plugin as a possible replacement for The Events Calendar. So far so good!

On the main Events page it doesn’t display the page heading (Events). I can see the title tag is “Events Archive”. Is it possible to display the heading on the page as well as remove the word Archive from the title?

Also, The Events Calendar has an option to add content before and after the event listings. Is this possible?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @artisanweb,

Thank you so much for your valuable interest in Eventin! We are thrilled to hear that your testing is going well so far as you look into replacing The Events Calendar.

Regarding your first question about the page heading and the title tag, we want to make sure we understand your query deeply. Could you please brief us one more time and, if possible, share a screenshot marking exactly where the “Event Archive” heading is appearing and what you would like it to look like?

We took a quick look at your site, and the browser header tab seems to be displaying the event title nicely on pages like this one: https://staging.plasmaenan.co.uk/events/demo-digital-marketing-summit-2025/

Once we see the exact archive page layout you are referring to, we’ll be able to guide you better.

As for your second question, we don’t currently have a built-in option to add content before and after the event listings like The Events Calendar does. However, if you can share a screenshot or mock-up showing exactly where you need to insert that content, we would be happy to look into it and try to provide a workaround or custom hook solution for you.

I hope this helps, and we’ll be waiting for your reply!

    Best regards,

Thank you for the quick response. The titles on the individual event pages are fine. It’s the main event listing page where the title is needed See the below screenshot. “Events Archive” displays in the tab. If you look at the live site (which is still using the other plugin) you can see the Events title and intro text that I want to add https://www.plasmaenan.co.uk/events/

    Hi @artisanweb,

Ahh got it. Yes its actually a necessary option you have claimed. But for now, we don’t have this option. But if you told us to do that then we will do that for you asap within the next release. As after visiting we checked the page and got you had already moved into another plugin if you let us know then we will do the custom things for you asap, and if possible, will provide you with the beta fixed version.
Please let us know your expectations.

    Thanks for being with us.

    Hope you got it.

    Best Regards,

I’m still evaluating the plugin on the staging site. For now I’ve added HTML to the template archive-event.php. This solution will do for now but I’m not sure where to save this file in the child-theme. I’m using The Events Calendar on 12 websites (all with a similar layout to this one) so ideally if there’s a simpler solution that would be good.

    Hi @artisanweb,

That is a great temporary workaround, and we love the initiative!

To make sure your custom HTML doesn’t get overwritten when you update the plugin, you can safely override the template using your child theme. For Eventin, you just need to create a folder named wp-event-solution inside your child theme directory and place the template file there. The structure will look like this:

    your-child-theme/wp-event-solution/templates/archive-event.php

However, since you are managing 12 websites with a similar layout and looking for a much simpler, long-term solution without dealing with code overrides on every single site, we have some great news for you!

We will definitely build a native solution for this. We are planning to include an option to easily add custom content before and after the event listings right from the plugin settings. Our team is on it, and we hope to release a new version within the next week that will feature this update for sure!

Thank you again for your patience and for helping us make Eventin a perfect alternative for your projects.

    Best regards,

    Hi @artisanweb,

    You are very welcome!

In the meantime, did you get a chance to check out that child theme template path, and were you able to override the archive-event.php file successfully on your staging site?

Please let us know if it worked out or if you run into any trouble with it, we want to make sure your temporary fix is running smoothly while we work on the official update!

I couldn’t get it to work adding it to the child theme (currently testing it on another website which needs it to go live sooner than the other one).

I updated the plugin but it doesn’t seem to be built in yet.

Also, for the notifications, I’m the admin of the WordPress site but I don’t want the notifications – these need to go somewhere else. How do I change that as there doesn’t seem to be an option under Emails?

    Hi @artisanweb,

I am really sorry to hear that you are running into a deadline crunch and that the template override wasn’t working for you on the new site!

To be completely transparent, our development team hasn’t been able to roll out the native “before/after content” settings panel in the plugin update just yet. However, you absolutely can override the page and customize it to look exactly how you want right now.

    1. Template Override Video

The native feature isn’t live yet, but you can definitely override the template right now. We made a step-by-step video to show you exactly how to do it:

👉 Watch the Tutorial Video Here

    2. Admin Notification Emails

We don’t have a built-in setting to route Eventin notifications separately. Since they use your default WordPress settings, the best solutions are:

    • Change the WordPress Admin Email: Switch it under Settings > General to the inbox where you actually want the emails to go.
    • Use an Email Routing Plugin: You can use a third-party plugin to forward notifications, but make sure you don’t completely disable admin emails first, or the plugin won’t have anything to forward!

Check out the video, and let us know if you get it running smoothly!

    Best regards,

    M Mahbub
