The blue update button for updating orders that have been processed is missing. It is missing on three of my customers computers, but not mine. She has tried clearing her cache and changed browser with no success. Has anyone come across this before?
    Thanks

    Hi @jude306,

Thanks for reaching out about the missing blue update button for processed orders.

Just to clarify something first, the blue Update button you’re referring to is part of the WooCommerce admin order edit screen, which is only accessible to users with admin or shop manager permissions. Regular customers wouldn’t normally see this screen at all.

Could you confirm: are the people missing the button actually staff members or users with admin access to your WordPress site, rather than regular customers? If so, this is likely a user role/permissions issue. Their WordPress user accounts may have been assigned a role that doesn’t include the edit_shop_orders capability, which controls whether the Update button appears.

A couple of things to check:

    1. What role are the affected users? Go to Users → All Users and check what role each affected person has (Administrator, Shop Manager, Editor, etc.)
    2. Try assigning them the Shop Manager role. If they need order editing access — this role has all the necessary WooCommerce permissions built in

It would also help to share your System Status Report (WooCommerce → Status → Get system report, paste at https://pastebin.com) so we can check your setup in more detail.

    Looking forward to your response!

It’s the company owner who is trying to process her orders, but the button has vanished from the computers in her office.

    Hi @jude306,

Thanks for the update, I appreciate the clarification. Since you’re still able to see the blue Update button on your own computer, can you confirm if the issue is only happening on the company owner’s computer and the other office computers?

If that’s the case, could you please share a screenshot of how the order edit screen looks on your end where the button is visible? You can upload the screenshot using https://snipboard.io and share the link here.

Also, please share your System Status Report so we can check whether there may be a plugin, theme, or configuration affecting the order screen visibility. You can get it via WooCommerce → Status → Get system report, then paste it to https://pastebin.com, https://quickforget.com, or https://gist.github.com and share the link here.

Yes it’s on their office computers, three of them. I can see it as normal. They have been using the same website since 2018 and although editing it themselves the shop admin hasn’t changed.

The shop owner had unwittingly switched the button off.
In the order actions box the solid arrow/triangle at the far right that makes the blue button appear and disappear.
