    Hello there
I’m in the middle of trying to amend some files as part of a ‘right to be forgotten’ exercise and have run into problem after problem. First in File Manager (cPanel) I downloaded, amended and overwrote the files in wp-content/uploads/2010/ and so on. No good, link still shows old file. So … saved the files that needed amendments and deleted them, not only in File Manager BUT in the WP Media Library as well. These files should be dead as can be, they are not there as far as I can see. BUT … link to them, and up they pop like cheery little zombies. Please help if you can, not much hair left to start with before this all started 🙁
PS all browser caches cleared, but even Chrome, which I don’t use, can find them *sob*

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Where are you seeing these links that will not go away? If they are in post or page content, they need to be removed manually via the post/page editor. Or you can do a global search and replace operation with the Better Search and Replace plugin.

The links shouldn’t resolve to any data. If you’re still seeing deleted content after following the links, the data is stuck in a cache somewhere. If you’ve no WP caching plugins, ask your host if they’re caching content and how to flush the cache.

No, these are links pasted straight into the address bar. Here is a file deleted from WP and the server (using File Manager) that refuses to die —

I will ask ANS about flushing the cache.
Thank you for your prompt reply.

FWIW, WordPress has absolutely nothing to do with a request like that. It’s definitely something about how your server is set up. It looks like it may be something cached by cloudflare.

Thank you yes, the jury reached the same conclusion 🙂
All fixed now. Thanks for your reply.
