I’ve just installed Foobox and enabled the settings as per the documentation.

It is working, however only seems to apply to new images uploaded to posts, none of the existing posts have Foobox activated.

This is happening in preview mode too from the admin panel, and is definitely not a caching issue.

So my question is, how do I enable Foobox on all my existing posts?

    hi @chrisproau,

FooBox needs an anchor tag that points to an image in order to work. So just a plain image inside a post/page will not be picked up.

You might find that your old posts are simply embedding the image directly without an anchor tag around it, which is why this is happening.

Unfortunately, without the anchor tag “pointing” to the full size image, FooBox does not know what image to open.

Please can you link to a post where it is not working, so I can confirm this is the problem?

@chrisproau I figured this problem can be overcome with a small script, so I built an “Auto Linking” feature for old content that has images which do not link to the full-size attachment.

Download from here to test : https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/foobox-image-lightbox.2.7.43.zip

And goto Settings to enable it.

Let me know if that works for you

This setting is now in the latest release. Closing this ticket
