‘Email not found’ error
-
Hi CrawlWP Support,
I’m setting up CrawlWP across multiple client sites and have hit a wall with the Google API integration. I’ve completed all the setup steps but am getting a hard ’email not found’ error when trying to add the service account as Owner in Google Search Console.
Here’s what I’ve confirmed is correctly set up:
- Google Cloud Project: crawl-wp-4xxxxx
- Service Account: crawlwp@crawl-wp-4xxxxx.iam.gserviceaccount.com
- Both required APIs are enabled: Web Search Indexing API and Google Search Console API
- Billing account is linked to the project
- Service account shows as Owner in IAM & Admin
- The Google Cloud project was created under my agency Google account (seo@xxxxxxxxxxxxco.nz)
- The Search Console property I’m trying to add it to is a URL prefix property (https://example.com)
- I have Owner-level access to the Search Console property myself
When I go to Search Console → Settings → Users and Permissions → Add User and paste the service account email, it returns a hard fail: ‘Failed to add user – email not found.’
I’ve tried adding it as both Owner and Full User — same error either way.
Could you advise what might be causing this and how to resolve it? I’m looking to use one Google Cloud project and service account across multiple client sites, which I understand is supported.
Thanks in advance
