I have the same question. Also, when trying to update, it updates to version 4.0.7
in github they are preparing a 4.0.8 release so it looks like this was not meant to be a release version. But hopfully it will be released soon as more pages are auto-updating to 4.1.0-dev
Another day another elementor update…..
Shoul we hold off on this dev version ?
4.0.8 is out now and replaced the 4.1.0-dev version.
A “-dev” or “-beta” is good for testing but should never be published to every user as a release version. It didn’t break anything on my sites but I don’t use any 3rd party Elementor plugins or Pro so I don’t know if it would work fine in your environment.

Hi @migaweb
Elementor Editor 4.1 Beta was released earlier. Due to an error the beta update was temporarily made available for all users, not just beta testers.
We identified and resolved the issue quickly, and released a patch for Elementor Core 4.0.8.
The 4.1 Beta release does not include breaking changes to core functionality, and existing sites should not be affected. However, we understand the concern this caused, especially for users whose sites may have updated automatically.
If you are concerned about running a beta version on your site, we recommend rolling back to a previous version of Elementor.
You can do this from your WP Admin by going to:
Elementor → Editor → Tools → Version Control
Then select the version at the top of the list under “Rollback Version” and click “Reinstall”.
You can also download a copy of Elementor Core 4.0.8 zip file and upload it manually.
For detailed rollback instructions, please follow this article:
https://elementor.com/help/rolling-back-to-a-previous-version-of-elementor/
For a direct link to the zip file, click here:

We take this incident seriously and are reviewing our release process to strengthen our safeguards and ensure beta versions are tested and delivered only through the intended channels.
Thank you for your patience and for holding us accountable.
All ours site got stuck at 4.1.0-dev1 and did not install 4.0.9 EVERY site had to be rolled back manually.
Additionally this prevented the new Cookie Consent plugin from appearing.
Really need to do better, rolling out a beta is pretty poor.
