• I love it, it’s so simple, the interface is beautiful. I’ve set it to 20 languages now, including the most widely spoken ones, because I figured there was no point in using the clunky basic Google Translate plugin where you scroll through 200 languages when 90% of those languages are spoken by less than 10% of the population. At worst, if someone somewhere in the world speaks a niche language, they’re probably used to websites not being translated into their language, so they can translate directly with their browser (Chrome does this), or they’ll probably just translate into English.

The only drawback is that this plugin can’t detect the language; it can only translate from a single source language on the site, so I’ve left English as the default. But as a result, pages in French can’t be translated. I wrote half my website in English (the “About” page, fine print, titles, and all the articles from 2017 to 2026, I think) and the other half in French, but now I plan to write all my future articles in French because I’m more comfortable with it. So, I’ll probably switch all the site’s articles to French in the future, including the “About” page and the title, so it’s consistent and the plugin will work for all the pages. The only catch is that you have to get the paid version of GTranslate ($10/month) for the translated pages to appear in search results (for example, if an English speaker types “Lightfox Arts” into Google, they’ll see the English description directly in the search results), but I’ll get it when I have more visitors. For now, it’s still very basic. I get a few random views, maybe 3 or 4 a day, from completely random countries around the world, but I still have almost 10,000 views on the site since its creation in 2018 (many of which are probably from me). But I love it, I love it, I love it! Everything is gradually falling into place, and it’s going to explode in the coming years. My music, comics, etc.
