• Hi team,

I am attempting to implement Google Consent Mode v2 using the free version of the CookieYes plugin via the custom script method (Method 2 in your documentation).

The Issue: Despite following the implementation steps, the CookieYes Consent Mode Checker returns a “Consent doesn’t update” error.

    Details:

    • Site URL: https://arenas.cat/
    • Implementation: Method 2 (Custom Consent Mode Script).
    • Troubleshooting performed: I have verified the page source, and the script execution order appears to match the documentation requirements (the Consent Mode script is placed before the plugin/GTM scripts).

Could you please take a look and help me identify why the consent signals aren’t updating correctly upon user interaction?

    Thank you!

    Hello @leemon,

To implement Google Consent Mode with the CookieYes WordPress plugin, the plugin needs to be connected to the CookieYes web app account. Simply adding the custom script alone will not enable the consent updates required for Google Consent Mode.

    Please make sure to:

    1. Connect the CookieYes plugin to your CookieYes web app account
    2. Navigate to the Advanced Settings page in the CookieYes web app
    3. Enable the Google Consent Mode option there

Once enabled through the web app, the consent signals should update correctly based on user interaction.

You can refer to the documentation here for the complete setup steps:
