This is a feature request. For a site with many contributors with their own galleries, there are some important shortcomings with your current plugin configuration:

    1. Gallery ownership cannot be set. We have to go into our database to change the account number to an author.
    2. Once a gallery is owned by an author, it’s hard for them to access it. With your previous version, when they went to “Galleries,” it would list only theirs. Now, if there are many galleries, they have to go searching through the list for it. If they remember its title, they can put that in “search,” but it would be much better if their gallery/galleries were listed first, or even better, they were the only ones listed, as before.
    3. We should be able to set who has access to “Create gallery.” Eg, admin and editors only.

    Hi @jamminjames,

Thank you for your feature request and for sharing your detailed insights on how our plugin could better accommodate sites with multiple contributors.

    1. Gallery Ownership Assignment: I understand the need for a straightforward way to set gallery ownership without having to dive into the database. Enhancing this feature would make management much easier for admins.
    2. Improved Gallery Access for Contributors: It’s important for contributors to easily access their galleries. Previously, they could view only their own, and it would be beneficial to restore this functionality, or at least prioritize their galleries to appear first in the list.
    3. Access Control for Creating Galleries: The ability to define who can create galleries, limiting this to roles like admin and editors, is a valuable suggestion for better access management.

I’ve added these suggestions to our development team’s list for consideration in future updates. We’re committed to making the plugin more user-friendly for contributors and admins alike.

Thank you again for your feedback. If there’s anything else you’d like to suggest, feel free to reach out.

    Best regards,
    Mihai

Thanks for adding the suggestions, I hope they implement them. I asked about these same issues years ago, seems like improvements like these would be more of a priority.
