I love the new “remove background” feature, but can the plugin create a copy of the image when it does this?

I would prefer to keep my original image in the media library alongside the new one without a background. Thanks!

    Hello @futuropolis ,

Thank you for your message! 🙂

Your idea is definitely interesting and it would be nice to have a backup of the original image just in case.

I’m thinking of a toggle in the background removal screen which would allow you to keep the original image in the media library as backup while also saving the new image which has the background removed.

I’m happy to let you know that we will be working on this and it will be released in a future plugin update!

    All the best,

Hi @adrianrus, thanks for replying so quickly, and considering this idea. I like the solution you suggested (I would prefer it toggled “on” by default, but others may not).

Alternatively, it could be a global setting. I suspect most people would not change this setting every time they process an image.

I’m looking forward to seeing this feature released 🙂 have a great day
