    Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started looking into Adminimize from a product perspective and wanted to reconnect with the community here. We know the plugin hasn’t seen much active development recently, and it’s still widely used, especially for managing roles and permissions. That tells me there’s something worth improving here.

I’m currently understanding how the plugin is used before deciding on next steps.

Before making any changes, I’d really like to understand how you’re using Adminimize today and what matters most to you.

    • What do you primarily use it for?
    • What are the biggest limitations or frustrations?
    • Are there any improvements or features you’d prioritize?

Feel free to share your thoughts here. I’ll be actively reviewing and responding.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks,
    Rahul Basu

    Hi Rahul

It’s a very useful plugin – we use it regularly to remove clutter and streamline the WordPress admin area for clients, especially non-technical users.

A couple of observations from day-to-day use:

    • It occasionally misses elements, particularly meta boxes added by plugins. This can make it tricky to fully clean-up certain edit screens.
    • The interface feels quite long and a bit slow to navigate, especially on sites with lots of roles and post types.

    In terms of improvements:

    • A more modern, streamlined UI would be a big win. Something closer to Advanced Access Manager in terms of usability would help, although one thing Adminimize does really well is letting you see and manage multiple roles within the same view – that’s something I’d definitely keep.
    • You have to re-save the Adminimize settings to see new links that have been added to the menus, etc. Maybe a feature that highlights what new links have been added recently?
    • Better detection/support for third-party plugin meta boxes would make it much more reliable.

Overall though, we love the plugin a lot – great to see it getting attention again 👍

    Hi Mike,

This is really helpful, thanks for taking the time to share it.

The points around missed elements and having to re-save settings stand out. That kind of friction adds up quickly in day-to-day use.

Also useful to see where things feel harder than they should be based on how you’re using it today.

    Thanks again for sharing this.

    Regards,
    Rahul Basu
