• Free functionality is minimal and completely useless. It’s a 100% commercial product masquerading as free. It’s deleted incorrectly, leaving traces in the system. It’s a waste of time and added junk to the database.

    Hi @inkffgmail,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience.

Regarding the free plan, it’s not meant to be “restricted functionality” but rather a usage-based limit. Many users continue using the free plan long-term if their image usage fits within the 20MB/month quota. If you have a larger number of images, a paid plan simply gives higher quota so you can process everything, and you can always adjust your plan later based on your needs.

About the database part, when images are optimized, Imagify stores optimization data in the database to manage compression levels, backups, and next-gen formats. This is expected behavior for any optimization process.

Before removing the plugin, we always recommend restoring images to their original versions from the backup option. This process also cleans up all related optimization data. If the plugin is removed without restoring, some data may remain. In such cases, reinstalling the plugin and restoring images will clean things up properly.

If you’d like, feel free to reach out to the support and we’ll help you get everything back to a clean state step by step.

We hope this helps clarify how the free plan and cleanup process actually work in practice. When used as intended, Imagify handles optimization and cleanup smoothly without leaving unwanted data behind.

    Best Regards,
