Permanent error locking up WP: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in

    I logged in today and tried to add a thumbnail to my theme, I got the following error on a blank page:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/pcpb/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/epione/functions.php on line 404

    This has virtually locked up WP – while I can go ‘back’ in Explorer, whenever I try to ‘update’ a template (back to what it was) or open another menu, I just keep getting the error above.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    something is wrong with the functions.php file in your theme

    you will need to use ftp or a file manager if your host offers one

    If the file is not customized, you can upload a fresh copy of that file to
    wp-content->themes->epione folder

    if it is custom, you may have to try to fix it…..
