Getting Too Much Spam Through Contact Form 7 – Need Help

Hi everyone,

I’m using Contact Form 7 on my WordPress site, and recently I’ve been getting a lot of spam submissions. It’s becoming hard to manage and I want to prevent it without affecting legitimate users.

I’ve tried basic solutions like reCAPTCHA, but spam still gets through.

Does anyone have effective ways to reduce spam in Contact Form 7? Plugins, settings, or best practices would be really helpful.

hello, what you are facing is very common with contact form 7, especially when the form is simple. As I checked your contact form you are only using name, email and message. So it becomes easy for bots to target and make automated submissions. To reduce this you can try adding a honeypot, which is basically an invisible field where real users won’t see it but bots will fill it and get blocked. You can add this using a plugin like contact form 7 honeypot. Also you can add a simple quiz field like 2+3 or 1+1 kind of questions. This will help you to block most of the automatic spam submissions.

I have checked your website and it seems like your contact form is build using https://wordpress.org/plugins/forminator/ plugin and I don’t see Google Re-Captcha or any math equation in the form.

I would highly recommend you to customize your form to meet your business needs instead of generic and add general security/math/science question to the form to prevent the spam.
