    • creates a new post type: pp_video_block
    • makes their own additional “media bay” where you have to register/load your videos (not sharing benefices of WP functions on the WP media library and other plugins around that)
… I wonder if the guys giving good reviews have tested other video solutions or have an extremely simple blog with very limited quantity of videos …

  • Hi @fff654,

Thanks for sharing your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time.

It seems there may be a bit of confusion around how Presto Player handles media, so we’d like to clarify:

Presto Player fully uses the standard WordPress Media Library for self-hosted videos. When adding a video, the default WordPress media uploader opens, just like any other block.

The Media Hub (pp_video_block) you mentioned is an optional feature designed for reusability. It allows you to configure a video once and reuse it across multiple pages, similar to reusable blocks in WordPress.

If you prefer a simpler setup without this behavior, you can disable syncing entirely:

    • Go to Presto Player > Settings > General
    • Set the default to “Not synced”

With this setting, videos are added directly to your post content without using a custom post type.

You can learn more about this here:
    https://prestoplayer.com/docs/video-sync/

If you’re open to it, we’d be happy to help you set things up in a way that fits your workflow better.

    Thanks again for your feedback.
