remove category subfolder

    currently i’m still developing my theme offline on xampp. The problem i’m facing is whenever i create a new category eg. events (as main, without parent) it automatically sit on a parent category (sale) which i already remove. Thus, instead of being: localhost/wordpress/events it becomes localhost/wordpress/sale/events.

    any idea how to fix it?

    it would normally be
    localhost/wordpress/category/events

    check on your permalinks page – Settings / Permalinks
    to see if you have anything entered in “Category base”
