Endless loop using List page options

I am on WP 6.9.1 with theme Blocksy (latest version) and the latest version of the Event Calendar. All of the basic functions of setting up events, displaying them on the List page and seeing the details by clicking on the event all seem fine. When I click on an event and see the details, the links at the bottom of the page for the previous and next event work fine. On the List page however; clicking on the “Previous Events” link at the bottom of the page does not work. I get the “Thinking Mode” with the three dots displaying and that never ends. I can only get out of it by clicking the Browser back button to go back to the previous page. The same thing happens if I click on Search For Events, Find Events, Month or Day options. If I copy the link from any of these options and put that into a new browser tab, it works.
