Blog itself not showing up

I am working with a newly installed marketing theme. The home page has a slider of product posts, and other content. There was a page by default called “blog,” but no blog content actually shows up there (there are 6 posts, all same category).

I don’t understand where/how the “blog” page itself is created. I understand “The Loop” and the whole concept of it all, but I am talking about just displaying the blog, the most basic thing of all.

There is no default “blog” template for creating a new page.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thx.
