I tested this on a Mariadb hosting environment and didn’t notice increased speeds on most dashboard pages.

I wonder if some of the optimizations this plugin is making do not make a significant difference on the newer versions of WordPress 6.8 + Mariadb 10.6.24 ?

    Thank you for the question.

This plugin’s optimizations are, sad to say, still relevant in the most recent versions of WordPress and MySQL or MariaDb. That’s because they work around WordPress’s legacy database keys. Those were designed to be compatible with MySQL version 5.6 and earlier.

Explanations are here and here. The effects of the better keys are more noticeable on larger sites.

It will be great when WordPress decides to drop support for MySQL 5.6, because core standard keys can be modernized and this plugin will no longer be necessary.

If you’re having performance problems please don’t hesitate to upload your metadata and I’ll take a look. See the pinned topic in this support forum for how to do that.
