    Good morning,
Years ago I used Give. I had to remove it because, after an update, the WordPress admin section no longer worked, giving the error: “A critical error has occurred on this site. Check your inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, try the support forums.”

Now, almost two years later, I’m trying to reinstall it, hoping that the new versions would fix the problem. Instead, the same problem persists.
Is it fixable, or do I need to change services?

I’ve now reverted to version 3.3.1 to get it working, but it’s obviously outdated and has vulnerabilities.
If it can be fixed, I’ll keep using it; otherwise, I’ll find another way to receive donations.

    Hello @microchip ,

Glad you reached out, happy to help!

Anytime there is a critical error, that would need to be resolved straight away — those do not usually go away on their own.

Given the potential complexity of resolving this issue, can you reach out to us via our contact form at https://givewp.com/contact-us/ please? Use the option that says “I am responding to a request to contact you.” and we will assist further.

When you are filling out that form, please include these 2 important items:

    1. Your system information – To do this, navigate to GiveWP > Tools > System Info (tab), click the button to Get System Report and copy/paste ALL of the text in your email reply.  Here is a (silent) video showing you were to find and copy this info.

    2. Your PHP error log so we can see the details of the critical error you’ve been experiencing. If you are not sure how to access the PHP error logs, you can ask your web host where to find these on the server, then attach the full log file on the contact form.

I’m marking this topic as resolved here, and we’ll see you in Priority Support! 🙂

From Tools -> Data, I re-ran some tables that were in error.
Then I updated them and now it works.
