Suggestion: preserve metadata during image conversion

I use the image conversion feature on almost all of my websites because it means I don’t need an additional plugin. Unfortunately, when converting .jpeg or .png images to .webp, all metadata is lost. After doing some research, this seems to be a common problem with the .webp format when using Imagick and Gmagick. XMP metadata seem to be supported, but IPTC is not.
