Wordfence stuck in “installation incomplete” loop despite reinstall

    Hello,

    I have been using Wordfence for years without issues, but recently I started seeing the message “Wordfence installation is incomplete.” When I follow the steps, install the free license again, it confirms successful installation, but after that the same message appears again and the process repeats in a loop.

    I tried reinstalling the plugin completely, but the problem persists.

    Could you please help me resolve this issue? Is there something that needs to be cleaned or reset on the server or in the database?

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Hi @apendix,

    Perfect, thank you for sending that! In your diagnostics, in the Database Tables section, many of Wordfence’s tables (as well as some others) are marked as crashed and in need of repairs. This can prevent the updated data from being written to the table.

    Please run a repair on the affected database tables. Your host should be able to help with this process. After, try installing the license key again. Let me know if you run into any issues!
