I am developing by site locally and want to test it using the paypal sandbox. I have WooCommerce and WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugins activated, and have gone through the wizard with my prod account believing there would be either under:

    WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal

a toggle: Enable PayPal sandbox mode

    or

Or use your PayPal API credentials” / “Enter REST API credentials

So I could then point it towards the sandbox. I seem to have none of those, it has just used my prod credentials which seem to be readonly in the admin console.

Do I need to expose my site and maybe make it https to get those options or are they now gone?

    Hi @andrewpate ,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to toggle between sandbox mode and live mode.

To switch to sandbox mode, you have to disconnect your prod account.

    1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → PayPal.
    2. Under Settings Tab – Disconnect your Live account.
    3. At the Activate PayPal page, scroll to the bottom of the connection screen, find “See Advanced Options”.
    4. Click on “Enable Sandbox Mode”.
    5. Connect a sandbox account, which you can create from your PayPal Developer Dashboard.

Let us know if it works for you.

    Best Regards,
    Jamie

Thanks Jamie for your response. I do not seem to have the “Enable sandbox” option.. If I detach my live paypal account .. then go WooCommerce >> settings >> payments >> Paypal >> Complete Setup … I get a Connect your PayPal account page. If I try my sandbox business credentials the login fails at “Connect to Paypal”. If I use my live credentials I get through to the “Your’re almost there” page with the button “Return to WooCommerce” and then I’m in again with my live credentials, but no enable sandbox option … I’m running plugins WooCommerce 10.3.4 and WooCommerce PayPal Payments 3.2.1  . This is running on a test server that can get to the internet but does not (yet) take requests from the internet, but I would not have thought that would be needed for sandbox testing

Oh right ( after updating to 10.3.5 anyway)

Just after “Pay in 3” there is a line

    ———- OR ———-

    See advanced options

Once you open that advanced options dropdown there is the “Enable Sandbox Mode”

Thanks Jamie for putting me on the right track.
