Using UM for logging in users to their private environment on our website. Showing their profiles the profile photo is missing (white circle). Tried everything what i could find as suggestion to solve, including reducing website to standardtheme with only UM as plugin, but nothing worked.

When using “inspect page” on the console tab I see an error
“Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT um-gdpr.min.js:1

Can this be the reason for missing profile photo’s?
when try to show a single profile the profile photo is a white circle

    Thx a lot

You can try “4 Ways to Fix the “Failed to Load Resource:” by Kinsta:

Have you an uploaded Profile photo for the User?
How did you upload the Profile Photo?

Have you defined “Default Profile Photo” at UM Settings -> Appearance -> Profile?

Tried everything you mentioned and much more, thanks a lot, but no result so far.
It’s totally unclear why all profile-photos (existing in folder) disappeared from profiles leving a white circle.

Do you have a Web hosting Firewall/Security application active like “Mod Security”?
Look at your cPanel or ask your Web hosting support.

Yes, the hosting has ModSecurity in his firewall with Web/FTP/cPanel/Upload scanner. But this existed already for years and had always functioning correctly.
Has there to be done/check something related to UM?

    @terps001

Yes, there are some UM image upload issues with “ModSecurity”.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/114-photo-uploads-not-working

Try to disable “ModSecurity” for your UM pages.

OK, thx, will contact my hosting provider for this.

My Hosting Provider has concluded after intensive research (with simulation of my website without any plugin except UM) that the problem is not ModSecurity related. Even not Hosting server related.
I need to look for another solution of UM alternative…

    Hello @terps001

Maybe you disabled avatars globally. Please go to wp-admin > Settings > Discussion and turn on the Avatar Display (Show Avatars) setting. This is a global setting that affects all avatars in all plugins, including the profile photo in the Ultimate Member plugin.

    Regards

Hi Yurii, you are wonderful…. This solved my problems, all profile photo’s are back.
I’m not aware (anymore) to have changed this setting, but is was indeed set to “off”

    Thank you very much!!
