    Hi,

We’re currently using the “Payment Gateway for PayPal on WooCommerce” plugin, and it’s working great overall — but we’ve run into a UX issue:

Right now, all local payment methods (e.g., Sofort, Bancontact, etc.) are displayed only as secondary options below the PayPal button block.

We’d like to move these local payment methods into their own dedicated payment options on the WooCommerce checkout page — the same way other gateways (like Stripe or direct bank transfer) are displayed — instead of being grouped under the PayPal block.

This would make the checkout flow much clearer for customers and avoid confusion where local options appear hidden under “PayPal.”

Is there any way (via hooks, filters, or plugin settings) to achieve this layout change?
Or would you consider adding a setting for “Show local payment methods as separate options”?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for reaching out — glad to hear the plugin is working great for you!

Our plugin shows all payment buttons under PayPal. You can set the title as PayPal/Bancontact in PayPal Settings → Title.

PayPal Smart Buttons work in such a way that PayPal automatically displays the appropriate buttons based on the buyer’s device, location, and currency.

    For example:
Mybank will show for buyers from Italy
iDEAL and Trustly will show for buyers from the Netherlands
Bancontact will show for buyers from Belgium
That’s the strength of PayPal Smart Buttons

Please note that Sofort is no longer available through PayPal as of April 18, 2024.

Still, we’ve added your suggestion to our feature request list — we’ll consider adding this option in the future.

    Best regards
