    Hi there,

    We are getting reports of issues from customers trying to checkout using PayPal and paying is USD (the store’s default currency is GBP and we also offer EUR).

    The issue seems to be only affecting USD payments when using PayPal and once I enabled the logs this is the error that is shown:

    Cart simulation failed: Could not validate nonce.

    Now I checked some previous orders and I can see that there are several payments is USD that used PayPal successfully and I noted that no plugins/themes have changed/updated since the last successful transaction.

    What could be causing this issue?

    Thank you for reaching out.

    The “Cart simulation failed: Could not validate nonce” is not the root cause. This warning appears when the PayPal SDK attempts to simulate the cart in the background to calculate totals before creating the order. It is often triggered by page caching or when nonces expire due to a session timeout.

    To proceed, we’ll need both your system report and plugin logs so we can analyze what’s going on. Ideally, please confirm once the issue happens again, so we’ll know exactly what to look for in the logs.

    Please follow the steps below: To share your system report:

    1. Go to WooCommerce → Status
    2. Click Get system report and then Copy for support
    3. Paste the full report into our PrivateBin
    4. Share the PrivateBin link with us here

    To share the logs:

    1. Go to WooCommerce → Status → Logs
    2. In the dropdown, select the most recent woocommerce-paypal-payments log file that corresponds to a failed USD transaction
    3. Copy its contents into PrivateBin as well, and send us the link
