Hi @confy ,
Sorry to hear about the issues. Would it be possible for you to access the plugin folder via FTP and delete the MailPoet folder and then install the plugin from the WordPress directory? That should fix the errors about an existing folder. MailPoet stores data in the DB, so hopefully once you have the updated plugin installed active, all your data should be available.
I had the same problem and did the FTP delete and plugin installation. I still have the same issue. It just keep saying that “MailPoet version update is in progress, please refresh the page in a minute.”

Helo there @idgme @confy ,
Yes, that message can appear when a WordPress transient called mailpoet_activator_activate remains in the database after an update attempt, which can make MailPoet think the activation or update is still running.
Please try this next:
- Install the Transients Manager plugin from the WordPress directory
- Go to Tools then Transients
- Search for this key
mailpoet_activator_activate
- If you find it, delete it
- Go back to MailPoet in your dashboard and check if the update in progress message is gone
If the message disappears, I recommend reinstalling MailPoet one more time afterwards just to ensure the plugin files are clean, since the update may have been interrupted previously. Reinstalling should not remove your subscribers or emails because that data is stored in your site database.
If you do not see that transient key, or deleting it does not change anything, let me know what you are seeing and we can take the next step from there.
@idgme Kindly please open up a seperate support thread next time. Thanks.
