Hello @mr108,
Thank you for reaching out.
Duplicator is designed to work smoothly with a wide range of hosting environments, including those with custom structures.
I will test Duplicator on WordPress Studio, Local and InstantWP and will follow up with our findings.
Thank you for your patience.
Hello @mr108 ,
I have tested Duplicator on Local by Flywheel and have successfully created and restored a backup. To start the installation process, place the installer.php file and backup archive in the \app\public directory, then visit http://yourwebsite.local/installer.php — replacing yourwebsite.local with your Local site’s URL.
I haven’t been able to successfully use Duplicator with WordPress Studio due to its custom database configuration. I also encountered issues with InstantWP.
Therefore, I recommend using Duplicator on Local by Flywheel.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
Hi @mr108 ,
We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
Thanks!

Hi @mohammedeisa ,
Thanks for your help and quick response. I was offline for few days – that’s why I need that local WP site development option.
I installed Local and tried to make a zip backup but failed and the error message is this:
“Host Build Interrupt
This server cannot complete the build due to host setup constraints, see the error message for more details.”
But Local is accepting only zip backups, it seems that DupArchive format will not work on Local.
Not sure how to proceed…

Update:
I managed to install my site using .daf and installer.php files after having created a new WP site on Local. It works. But I’m surprised that navigating in that website is so slow – I was expecting it to open and view different pages in a snap.

Update 2:
Actually the pages open in a snap when there is no internet connection. With internet connection there is some delay, but that’s of course a question for Local developers.
Hi @mr108 ,
I’m happy that you could make Duplicator work on LocalWP.
About the slowness, this is normal. I experienced this issue with a different PHP framework. So, the slowness is not related to WordPress at all.
