Problem Installing a Plugin

I have been trying without sussess to insrtall a plugin on WordPress. I have been instructed to go to Dashboard, and I will see plugins on the left hans side, click on that and then on the right hand side I will see Add New, and in bold ” Install Plugins”, and then upload. When that is finished, browse, and find your plugin, and click ok on the bottom right hand side. This will take a short while. Once uploaded.activate, then go to the furthest left on your browser, and you will see your plugin there and click on this.

Folks, I cannot even find the Dashboard Page in that format. I am not stupid, but not a computer wizaed either. Can anybody help me install this plugin???
