Donation Data Goes Missing

We’ve had no issue with GiveWP for a few years now, but this year it has started acting up. Two main issues:
1.We will see a donation come through on the backend, but then the name/email doesn’t link to their paypal transaction
2. We’ve had multiple donations where the name/email is not on the paypal transaction and there is no record of the donation on GiveWP…This is especially challenging because we give our donors little perks and acknowledgements–without this data we have no way to do this.
Please help!

Glad you reached out, happy to help! I don’t have any of your site information to go on, but it sounds like it may be donor spam that is happening.
To start, can you kindly send us your system info please? To do this, navigate to GiveWP > Tools > System Info (tab), click the button to Get System Report and copy/paste ALL of the text in your reply to us here. That would be awfully strange for people to give us multiple $100 donations as spam, wouldn’t it?
I don’t that that is it at all–they are all legitimate it just appears something is not working with attaching the data correctly/recording the donation in the database. But I am simply guessing.WordPress Environment

Thank you for the system info! At first glance, we don’t see anything there that stands out as a red flag, other than to go ahead and update to the latest core GiveWP version which is currently
4.9.0.NOTE: We always recommend getting a FULL backup of your site before updating. This would be a backup that you can easily restore from if needed.
Otherwise, can you send us these two items please:
1. A screenshot of your PayPal settings page in GiveWP > Settings > Payment Gateways – PayPal
2. Form logs – check your form logs to see if any errors coincide with the date/time of the donations that are not showing up as expected on either end. Theses logs are accessed by going to GiveWP > Tools > Logs. When you find one, click on the “eyeball” icon on the right of the log to expand it to view the contents. After that, copy/paste the complete log into your next reply. (Note: a screenshot will not show us enough information. We haven’t heard back, but given the nature of the issue you are experiencing, it’s important that we receive the additional information so we can see why your donations are not aligning in GiveWP > Donations and PayPal. Given that, we would like to dig deeper on this one.
To do that, can you reach out to us via our contact form at https://givewp.com/contact-us/? Use the option that says “I am responding to a request to contact you.” Provide the link to this thread as context, your system info, etc. and we will happily help you.
