Why do some wordpress plugin download stats not work

I noticed that when I go to some wordpress download stats, the number downloaded for today, yesterday, etc.. seem correct – but the graphical display seems empty.

For example this plugin shows many downloads in the stats tab, but the graphic display shows no downloads at all?
