This image and video sitemap get added to the yoast sitemap but when you click the links, it leads to image.xml/ and video.xml/. It shouldn’t be adding a trailing slash at the end of an xml.

I tried this on multiple websites and it all leads to the same issue of a trailing slash being added. I tried checking htaccess rewrites and other places, but nothing is forcing the trailing slash for it.

The main issue is this is making redirects, and causing the page to load more slowly then it should.

    Hello @turtlegit

Thank you for pointing out the trailing slash issue with the image and video sitemaps.

We’ve corrected this in the latest update so that the sitemap URLs are now generated without the trailing slash. This eliminates the redirect and ensures faster, more direct access to the XML files.

We really appreciate your detailed feedback, as it helped us pinpoint and resolve the issue quickly. Please update to the newest version of the plugin, and you should see the improved behavior immediately.

    Best regards,
