We have a multilingual website powered by WPML for localization, and we’re currently implementing schema across our pages we’re using YOAST for this. However, we’re encountering an issue where the schema generated for localized versions of the pages does not match the schema defined in the default language.

In our default language (English), we’ve configured the schema to use NewsArticle. However, when we check the localized versions of the pages (e.g., in French or Spanish), the schema reverts to the default Article type instead of inheriting NewsArticle as set in the original even after resaving the localize page after we update the EN page.

    • Has anyone else encountered this issue with WPML and schema handling?
    • How can we ensure that the correct schema type (NewsArticle) is consistently applied across all translations?
    • Is this a limitation of the YOAST plugin, WPML compatibility, or a misconfiguration on our end?

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
