Critical error – but not able to access “recovery mode”

Hello there! seeking any advice. I have had a critical error on my website for 2 days due to my Avada theme.
I have received the email telling me the details as giving me the link if I can’t access my dashboard normally for the special “recovery mode”. However, when I click the link, it says: Recovery Mode not initialized.
Not sure what to do as I need to get my website up and going?
Any advice would be great!
