3.0 menu question

With a wp 3.0 menu, is it possible to have a top level menu item without it being linked to an actual page? I want the drop downs (children) to appear on mouseover, but not have a page or category at the top level (just a place holder with a label). Seems simple, but I can determine how it might be accomplished.
