We have a google ad account ID and a merchant account iD (which are different). As I understand from Google support, these are separate services. I’ve been trying to “connect” woo for Google, and I have both Google ads open and the new merchant account open. But it says “we are using the store address to verify”. Note that the store address is different from the Google ad business verification. We are currently waiting our 7 day Google ad business verification. Is this why woo for Google will not connect?

It seems to get stuck on the address and won’t go further. Do I need to use the same address in woocommerce as the corporation docs I gave for Google ad verification? Do I need to wait until Google ads are rotating again before I can do this?

  • Hi @webworks ,

Thanks for reaching out, you’re right that Google Ads and Google Merchant Center are separate services, even though they work together.

The “Woo for Google” plugin uses your store address in WooCommerce during the verification process with Merchant Center. If that address doesn’t match the one on file with Google (especially if you’re undergoing business verification for your Google Ads account), it can sometimes cause the setup to stall.

While the business verification for Google Ads is a separate process, inconsistencies between addresses across your Google accounts and WooCommerce can create friction during the setup.

    To answer your questions:

    • Yes, it’s a good idea to use the same business address in WooCommerce as the one you submitted to Google for verification. It helps ensure consistency and can prevent verification issues.
    • You don’t necessarily need to wait for the Google Ads business verification to complete before connecting Woo for Google, but if the connection process is stuck on address verification, waiting for that process to finish (and ensuring all details match) might help.

Thank you. Let us know if you have any more questions.
