Nice breakdown located here: Moving WordPress Within Your Site
Just a word of advice, though; It will pay to read it carefully before making the adjustments. There are a couple of steps that are easily tripped on if not careful, but it really is an easy process.
This is also a good read: Giving WordPress its Own Directory While Leaving the WordPress Index File in the Root Directory
Thanks Clayton. While waiting for a response I was doing some tinkering and removed the /wordpress from:
WordPress address (URL): http://Intrepidcanadablog.com/wordpress
and
Site address (URL): http://Intrepidcanadablog.com/wordpress
In Settings, General in WordPress Admin thinking I could move the files using ftp to the root directory and solve my problem. Guess not.
I crashed the blog and I cant access my admin settings anymore, the site is down.
What are my next steps?
In the first link I posted above, Moving WordPress Within Your Site see this information:

And this may also help now.. Changing The Site URL
That’s what I meant by this – “Just a word of advice, though; It will pay to read it carefully before making the adjustments. There are a couple of steps that are easily tripped on if not careful”
