    Hello,

We have recently switched from WPML to TranslatePress on our WordPress website. Our site has Swedish as the main language, and we already have extensive English translations created with WPML. These translations exist as separate pages/posts in the WordPress database.

We would now like to know if there is any way to import or reuse our existing English translations in TranslatePress, so we don’t have to translate everything manually again. Is there any tool, import function, or recommended workflow for migrating these translations into the TranslatePress system and interface?

We would appreciate any guidance on how we can use our existing translation files or content, as well as any tips on how to facilitate the transition and avoid unnecessary duplicate work.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards,

    Patrick for pianostammare.se

    Hello,

Unlike WPML, where translations are saved at the post level, the translations made with our plugin are string-based, so those are saved string by string in your database. In other words, the architecture of these plugins is different, thus the translations are not compatible. If you decide to use our plugin, you must manually translate the content from 0 or use automatic translation.

    Best Regards,
