    Hi,

I’m planning to switch all content, posts/page from WPML to TranslatePress.

Do you have any insight on how/what the process on migrating from WPML to Translatepress?
Can I export and import content between the 2 plugins?

Let me know if you require further information from my end or my query is too broad.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Jerry

    Hi,

These plugins are not compatible with each others, thus the translations either.

If you want to use TranslatePress, you will have to delete all the translated pages made with WPML.
WPML creates new posts which will be detected by TranslatePress and will be translated in their turn again. So, it’s not a good idea to let active the physical translated posts.
TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate urls. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not.

Also, you will have to translate from 0, manually using the Translation Editor, or automatically with an automatic translation engine.

    Best Regards
