This isn’t a WordPress question, but more to do with SEO so you might get better help on a dedicated SEO forum.
Haivng said that, the quick answers to your questions:
- How long does it usually take for backlinks to get indexed? – However long the search engine decided that it will take.
- Are there any recommended strategies to speed up backlink indexing? – There’s nothing that you can do to control SE’s crawling other sites to find links to your site. If you are really desperate you’ll have to ask the admin of the other site to request that their site is reindexed. That will most likely not happen.
- Does WordPress have any plugins or techniques that can help with backlink recognition? – No. See above.
The only advice here is the same as any other SEO process – be patient. It will happen, but it will not be fast.
As has already been said, this is better asked in a SEO focused forum.
I mainly just wish to add that backlink success partly depends on the quality of the referring page. Having links on trashy “link farm” listings could actually work against your intention. The best backlinks occur on high quality pages that rank high themselves.
the links you created may be removed due to promotions or links
Backlinks can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks to appear in tools like Ahrefs or Google Search Console. To speed up indexing, ensure the linking pages are indexed, use tools like Google Indexing API (for your own content), or build internal/external links to those pages. WordPress doesn’t directly affect backlink recognition, but using plugins like Rank Math or Yoast can help optimize crawlability
