Hello, I recently installed the free version of this plug in on my wordpress woocommerce site. Im not sure what I did but my access to my WP admin panel was lost and everything I did including typing my domain and wp-admin or wp-login on the end redirected back to my actual website. I ended up going into my cpanel and deleting the file for this plugin so that I could get back to my admin panel. Im not sure what I did to cause that. As of now the plugin is deactivated and Im hesitant to reinstall it. My main reason for wanting to use it is to keep new “users” aka customers from using fake emails to register on my site and then making fraudulent orders. From previous information I received this plugin works at checkout and not at registration and my braintree merchant processing already has excellent fraud protection built in so I am guessing that this won’t benefit me, correct? Thank you for your time.

I am sorry to read about your experience with the plugin @marcschank

The plugin does not have the ability to change the login page URL or so. So could it be something else? Or maybe you are already using another plugin that changer the login page URL and there is a conflict or something similar?

In regards to users registrations, the scope of the plugin is to harden the authentication process by adding 2FA. However, it does not add any additional layers to the user registration process. If you want to slow down or stop fake registrations you need to look at other possible antispam solutions, or you can add CAPTCHA to your registration page. We have a plugin called CAPTCHA 4WP which you can look into.

I hope the above helps. If you still want to use WP 2FA, even to add two-factor authentication to the website’s admin accounts etc, please let us know and we’ll tell you how to reset the plugin’s configuration to make sure you start with a clean slate.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
