The following warning messages appear on my WordPress login screen, and a warning text appears in the box where the username is entered. I can log in normally, no problem, but I have to delete this warning that appears by default in place of my username every time. I asked the hosting company to turn off the display of PHP error messages. The error messages and the text in the box disappeared. They stated that the problem was caused by the WooCommerce plugin. I was worried if there was a situation that could cause a problem.

    Visible Warning Messages:

Warning: Undefined variable $user_login in /home/bulunmay/milyonkitap.com/wp-login.php on line 1598
Warning: Undefined variable $error in /home/bulunmay/milyonkitap.com/wp-login.php on line 1620

The section where the username is written shows the following text:
    <br /><b>Warning</b>: Undefined variable $user_login in <b>/home/bulunmay/milyonkitap.com/wp-login.php</b> on line <b>1514</b><br />

  • Hi @atlantis1525,

I don’t think WooCommerce is the direct cause of this issue. It seems more likely that a plugin or theme modifying the login screen is responsible. Let’s run a few tests to confirm.

Can you temporarily deactivate WooCommerce, log out, and check if the error still appears? Also, please share your system status report so I can better understand your site setup. You can find it by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get Report > Copy for Support.

When I updated the woocommerce plugin to 9.7.1, the problem disappeared. That’s why I didn’t send a system report. What could be the reason?

    Hello atlantis1525,

    Thank you for your reply.

I am glad to know that the issue was resolved.

The possible reason for the issue could be a plugin conflict.
Did you only update WooCommerce or other plugins too?
The error you shared initially indicates that PHP variables were not handled correctly.

Let me know if there is anything I can help with. 🙂

    Have a great day!
