• Hello all!

My name is Djane and this is my first post here.

I was wondering if the multisite feature of wordpress is really made for haldling a lot of sites when in multisite mode?

I created a site where in you can create your won blog. kinda like wordpress.com or blogspot.

But the problem was the database crashed because I have around 1,300 users and my database has 11,000 tables. Then it got some weird logic errors. My hosting said it was due to some errors in the database. I suspected it was because of the oversize database. What do you think guys?

WordPress.com is using multisite, for what it’s worth, so … Yes BUT that’s not your issue 🙂

It’s not that Multisite cant’ handle a large DB, it’s that large databases can become … narky.

yeah, you are long past the point of scaling. And as Ipstenu said – it’s not the fault of wordpress here. any db-driven setup would have had the same issues.
