Access blocked: wpmailsmtp.com has not completed the Google verification process

    Hi there,

    The forms on my website recently stopped sending in the email field, which is a required field with the form. Once I took the field out and readded, it wouldn’t allow users to submit the form. I tried authenticating the email, however, the recovery phone number was set to a landline and I was unable to obtain the code. I changed both recovery and profile number to my mobile, yet when going to authenticate through the plug in after completing all previous steps, it doesn’t show the new number.

    I left it for a few days, and when I came back I got the following error code: Access blocked: wpmailsmtp.com has not completed the Google verification process

    The message which followed said: wpmailsmtp.com has not completed the Google verification process. The app is currently being tested, and can only be accessed by developer-approved testers. If you think you should have access, contact the developer. If you are a developer of wpmailsmtp.com, see error details. Error 403: access_denied

    Has anyone come across this before or knows a potential fix? Any recommendations would be great!

    Hi @jamesdouglas06 ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    When we’ve seen this error (Access blocked: wpmailsmtp.com has not completed the Google verification process) in the past, it usually means your app is set to Testing mode. To resolve it, you’ll have to publish your app as shown in the Google mailer setup guide.

    In case you haven’t done this already, within your Google Console project, please head over to the OAuth Consent screen section and then click Make External to publish your app.

    You can follow the steps in our guide here as well.

    Back in your WordPress admin area, you’ll need to connect to your Google account again by heading over to WP Mail SMTP > Settings and clicking on the button labeled Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account.
