    Hi,

We have 3 big websites using rank math premium today. But we will move to Yoast and probably Yoast premium and WooCommerce extension, but first we need to migrate. 2 of the sites did not use Yoast previously and migration went fine following this guide.

1 site was using Yoast more than a year ago so we have old Yoast data. When migrating, the old Yoast data was not overriden, a big problem for us as we have 1500 posts/pages that has been SEO optimizied during this time, so we can not do the migration manually.

We tried removing all data from Yoast following this guide. We made sure plugin was deactivated and deleted, no plugin folder as left nor database tables were left. Then we installed Yoast (latest version) again, did the migration again and imported from Rank math. But now, no SEO data was imported and same SEO titles and descriptions were set to the same or very randomly. Most pages now had the sites general tagline. Yoast settings dashboard now showed errors.

We re-activated rank math and all good but how do we fix this? Its strange its not working as we have been following your guides carefully.

    Thank you in advance,

    Lisa

    Hello @lisaxplore

I’m sorry about your experience with importing from RankMath to Yoast SEO. Following this guide, after running the SEO data optimization, did you confirm that the previous database tables you dropped were recreated and populated?

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. No, indeed no tables are created even after running the import and de SEO data optimization. When I follow the steps all pages get the same meta settings. How to solve this?

    Thanks a lot !

    Hello Lisa,

After installing Yoast SEO and running SEO data optimization in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Tools, you should have these tables:

    • wp_yoast_indexable
    • wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy
    • wp_yoast_migrations
    • wp_yoast_primary_term
    • wp_yoast_seo_links
    • wp_yoast_seo_meta

If WordPress is setup correctly, Yoast SEO will be able to create the tables automatically. To be setup correctly, the database username must have the following permission: ALTER, CREATE, DELETE, INDEX, INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE, and DROP for the WordPress database.  If they are not created, please speak with your web host or server admin to investigate why the tables cannot be created.

    Hi,

I tried a couple of times and no luck. I never had problems ever before with tables not being created because of hosting settings.

Do you have any other ideas how to work around this?

    Thanks a lot!

Your web hosting provider or server administrator will be in a better position to investigate why WordPress database tables cannot be created.

Strange, its only yoast that now cannot re-create the tables. All other plugins I add and users are working fine.
